Being comfortable with my weight is something that I have always struggled with, and I know many other young women feel the same way. We feel like we are not good enough because of the number on the scale, but that is not true.
Within the past few months, I have realized that the number we see on a scale is really not all that important. Our health is what is important. We should not be jeopardizing our physical or mental health to be satisfied with a number.
We should learn how to be happy and confident in our body as long as we are a healthy size and not unhealthily overweight or underweight. It is perfectly normal to weigh more than 100 pounds. It is also perfectly normal to only weigh 100 pounds. Don't let someone tell you that you are "too big" or "too small."
Gaining weight is not always a bad thing. You can gain weight and lose inches because you are gaining muscles. Losing weight is not always a bad thing either as long as it is done in a safe way.
It is okay to diet. It is okay to go to the gym. It is okay to care about what you look like. It isn't okay to feel like you HAVE to lose or gain weight. Don't become too obsessed with dieting and working out that it takes over your life and it harms your physical or mental health because that is what is most important.
Seriously, just be happy and love yourself. Take care of your body, but don't become too obsessed with it that it consumes you.
