Being prepared for the upcoming semester makes me feel extremely confident and motivated. Keep up with the trends and stay organized by making these products become part of your semester essentials list.

1. Planner

Having a planner as a college student is extremely beneficial. Keep yourself organized by color-coding things, such as homework, appointments, parties, due dates, etc. Writing to-do lists will also keep you motivated. I'm not the only one who thinks it's satisfying to cross off everything on your to-do list, right?

2. Five-Subject Notebook

Keep yourself organized by keeping all of your notes in one notebook. It will lessen your load in your backpack, too. Your back will thank you.

3. White-Out

If you're anything like me, everything needs to look organized and perfect. Don't get distracted by the scribbles in your notebook. Just invest in White-Out so you don't miss anything in class.

4. Phone Charger

I can't even count the number of times my phone died during school, so now, I always make sure I have a spare with me. I'm addicted to my phone and I know it. If you're reading this, you probably are, too.

5. Headphones

Whether you're actually listening to music or you just have them in to let people know to not talk to you, always keep them in your bag.

6. Moisturizer

Aveeno face and body moisturizer is my lifesaver. It's unscented and meant to be used on your face and body. On those lazy days when you don't want to wear makeup, put this on for a quick, glowy fix. Winters can be brutal knowing you have a 10-minute walk in-between classes. Don't ruin your skin because of the cold weather.

7. Chapstick

To tag along with the moisturizer, carry chapstick to prevent chapped lips in the winter.

8. Gloves

Driving, walking to class, and writing can be a struggle with ice-cold hands. Keep them in your bag for those just-in-case days.

9. Biker Shorts

Keep up with the current trends to start your semester off on the right foot. An oversized tee paired with biker shorts is the ultimate lazy girl outfit.

10. Cabin Socks

Three words: Infused with aloe.

11. Birkenstocks

Birkenstocks are the ultimate college girl shoe. Slip them on without socks when it's still warm. Slip them on with cabin socks when it's cold. They're made for all seasons and can be worn with literally anything.

12. Hooded Heavy Coat

No, I don't mean a sweatshirt or a North Face. Invest in an actual winter coat with a hood to avoid the rain and snow from ruining your day. Just be smart and stay warm.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
