In this day and time, being young means more responsibilities than we think. Yeah, we are young, free and happy. Well most of the time. But what it does not show is that we have piles on piles of stress. Whether it includes friendships, relationships, jobs and school, it's a lot of stress. Adults always say to us "you are young. what are you stressing for?" Well let me tell ya, we stress about a lot even if we do not need to be.
Life is hard but in our eyes its even harder when you are younger. We do not know where life will take us or who would be going with us. A lot of the times we stress about how much sleep we are going to get for school the next day because we spent too long binge watching Stranger Things. Other times we are too worried about why our boyfriend/girlfriend is not responding to our text messages fast enough. No matter what we stress about it takes a toll on us.
What I have learned in the past couple of years, is that it is okay to stress, it is okay to worry but it is not okay to let that take over your life. Life is hard, we all know this no matter how old we are. But its when you let stress take over your body is when life is no longer happy, you are no longer free because your mind locks you up. Everyday people struggle and will continue to struggle, with every day tasks. We just have to motivate ourselves to keep pushing, to make the best times out of bad circumstances. No matter what you stress over there will always be a bright side, it is just just up to you to look at the glass half empty or half full.
With that being said I challenge you. On the next task in life that you have, whether it be right now or tomorrow, to stay positive. You can stress a little, but to make sure that you keep fighting with a smile on your face. Don't do it because you think it is what you are supposed to do, but because you believe in yourself that you can accomplish anything and everything that is put into your lap.
I believe in you, the people around you believe in you.
All you have to do now is believe in yourself.
