Your first question is probably what do I mean? Right? Well, The best way I can think to explain this is by saying, mother always knows best. Whether it's when I denied what she said or totally disregarded her guidance. My mom's actions and words always were results of love and truth that she knew I would hopefully one day see. Also, I know none of us truthfully want to tell our moms they were right because that's like the ultimate, "I told you so moment". However, Don't be afraid to let her know when you finally realize it was all good stuff she was telling you.
So here's to mom:
Dear mom,
I mean here I am graduating high school and I am finally realizing your advice as truth. Now I think about it, everything you ever told you. Then I think about the outcome and what happened. What if I didn't listen to her or if I did? Moms you are brilliant, you seriously know what is best for me and will stop at nothing to make sure you can protect and love me.
I guess from me to you, thanks. Thanks for all those late nights where you stayed up and did the dirty work for me, young children. Or maybe thanks for dealing with my rough and rebellious stage in life. The time where I screwed up and you had my back despite me feeling like a failure and confused tremendously. Truly I don't deserve you. You are like a superhero mixed with a counselor mixed with a friend all wrapped up into one. Like honestly what don't you do for me? From the laundry cleaner to the homework helper, or even the breakup counselor, it is straight up unbelievable.
To even say thank you falls short of what I'm sure any of us want to say. Basically, I am in debt for everything you've done for me throughout my entire live. It has transformed, saved, and allowed me to become the wonderful person you have always hoped for me to be. The very words and prayers that you covered me in have worked and now here I am today.
Me your son or daughter. Led through life by the greatest person ever! Mom I may not always tell you to appreciate you, and I might get angry but just to let you know I will always cherish you.
Mom I love you! I can never and will never be able to discuss my full appreciation for you but thanks for every single thing! You are incredible and I am so blessed to call you mother!
Sincerely,
Your favorite for life.
