Not everyone has the chance to go on vacation for Spring Break. Whether you're saving money for another trip or everyone's break is at a different time, sometimes we just stay home, and that's okay. But you will relate to these things if you spent this Spring Break on a staycation.
1. Waking Up in Your Own Bed
Nothing beats waking up in your own bed. Especially if that bed isn’t twin sized.
2. Using This Opportunity to See Your REAL Doctor or Get Your Haircut
If there are two people in your life you can never replace, they’re your hairstylist and your doctor. I mean, they just get you, you know? Going home for Spring Break is the perfect opportunity to catch up with your doctor or touch up your hair.
3. Laundry. Lots of It.
I mean you’re home. Might as well do your laundry for free while you can (or, if you’re lucky like me, let your mom do it for you)!
4. Home-Cooked Meals
We all are sick of college food by now. Going home for break means home-cooked meals and fast food you don’t have to pay for.
5. Actually having to do the Homework Assigned Over Break
Being on the beach isn’t an excuse for those of us who go home for Spring Break. Chances are you’ll spend a day at the local Starbucks or in your room at home doing the homework your least favorite professors assigned you.
6. Seeing Everyone’s Amazing Pictures on Instagram
Don’t get me wrong—staycations are the bomb.com and if you’re saving up money for something, you have something to look forward to that makes it worth it. But that doesn’t stop us from dreaming of the ocean when it’s all over our social media.
7. Netflix. The Entire Time.
Do I need to say anything else? I mean come on, what else do you do when you’re home?
8. Visiting Your Friends From Home or at Other Colleges
Not everyone’s Spring Break is the same, which means you can visit friends at other colleges or grab lunch with your friends from home. Catching up is always fun!
9. Relaxing with Your Family
Easily the best part of an at-home Spring Break: spending time with loved ones (read: family and pets). Nothing beats hanging out with my mom, going to pick up my brothers from school, and facetiming my dad with my family and the dogs every night before bed.
