This was my first year attending Saginaw Valley State University and I’m honestly glad I made the decision to move an hour and a half from home to attend here.
I always heard the saying, “you have to live on campus to have the whole college experience.” I believe that’s true. This whole year has been a totally new experience, with all the ups and downs, I’m still glad I live on campus. If I didn’t live on campus I wouldn’t have met all of the people I did and joined many RSO’s.
This year alone I am a part of 6 different RSO’s, and next year I get to serve on the e-board for one of them. My friends and I have had so many accomplishments this past year its crazy to think about what if I stayed at home, didn’t meet anyone and didn’t join anything. This year I did so many new things and got back into many old things. Did you know Pokémon go is huge on college campuses?
I stay up late and have my first class at 10:30 or 11:30, depends on the day and i'm not sure which i prefer. By 4:20 I’m done for the day. Between classes and for dinner I eat in the FOC. It stands for food on campus. The FOC may have terrible food but I always await the days where they have good food, like mashed potatoes, pasta, or nugg day. Now that I live on campus I got out of my comfort zone and its truly amazing.
