12 Signs You're Addicted To Shopping
Confessions of a Shopaholic

1. When you calculate your expenses/amount of money you will need this month, shopping money is included in your thought process as if it were apartment rent or the wifi bill. It’s just inevitable- you might as well plan ahead.

2. You work to afford your shopping habbits. (oh yeah, and there’s those things called bills)

3.When someone asks you to pick up an extra shift at work, your decision to say “yes” is based on the fact that if you work 4 extra hours at $10/hr, that’s a brand new pair of shoes right there. Yeah, girl, I got your shift.

4. Of course your boyfriend NEEDS another new button-down shirt. I mean, especially when Ralf Lauren released all the new spring colors. Pastels, oh my! Plus, if you buy him one in every color, that’s not crazy, right? It just means you care!...right?....(and if they're on sale, he's getting the swim trunks, too.)

5. You’ll literally find any way to justify buying the thing you want, even if your reason sounds completely insane.

“This white dress will be perfect to wear when I am engaged and someone throws me a bridal shower. I’m buying it!”….girl…you don’t even have a boyfriend…

6. Even grocery shopping is enough to fix your shopping craving. I mean, it's still technically shopping.

7. Retail therapy is seriously the only therapy you need. It doesn’t matter what has happened all week- when you’re shopping, the world is a peaceful place and life couldn’t be better.

8. It’s not just outfit shopping that gets you excited. What about school supplies? Oh my goodness. Look at the notebooks in every color and pens that match. Is this what Heaven looks like?

9. If it’s on sale, you’d be crazy not to buy it. It’s like God placed you in this very store the very day they were having a sale. If that’s not fate, I don’t know what is.

10. You sometimes hide your shopping sprees from your parents/friends/boyfriend because if you hear “You went shopping AGAIN??” or “Why don’t you start saving your money instead of spending it all?” one more time, you may just have to resort to a little (more) retail therapy.

11. You get so excited when you shop that you don’t even realize how much you’ve spent. You check your bank account over and over to find the mistake, but you realize there was no mistake… It was you, girl, it was all you.

12. You get super excited when even the subject of shopping comes up, or when you meet someone with the same retail addiction to as you.

13. Black Friday is your favorite holiday. Yes, it's a holiday. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

......and it can get pretty serious.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
