Summer is finally in full swing, and we have officially recovered from the long, dark days of school. It's time for our summer lives to take full force. Like many college students, our summer days are filled with a summer job. Having a job in the summer is never as bad as having one during the school year. All thanks to that one magical word, "summer." We can stay up late and go out and fun the night before work and it doesn't bother us, but try doing that during the school year and you deeply regret it.
Other than it being summer, there is another reason for summer jobs not being so bad - best friends. If you are lucky enough to work with some of your best friends like I am, then your summer is set!
My friends and I have worked together for three summers now. Each summer is full of new adventures and memories.
You know you work with your best friends during the summer when:
You literally never leave each other's sides. As in you are together 24/7. You work together all day long and then after work they are the people you hang out with. They are also the ones you go out with on the weekends. During the summer you guys are never apart. This can be annoying sometimes during the work days, but once the day is over you are already planning what you are going to do that night.
You can talk about literally anything during the work day; no topic is off limits. From quoting movies all day to having very deep conversations about life, you can literally talk about anything. Granted, you might be thought insane if people heard some of the conversations you actually did have.
You develop one heck of a system to get the job done. When you work together for three years you know how to get s*^t done. You've perfected the art of painting, in our case, and can get it done as quickly as possible.
You are afraid to introduce new people to the team. When getting new people to work with you fear you can't be your true selves... or is this just us? But after a few days they start to fit right in (except for those choice few, am I right?!).
Everyday is a chance to make great memories with the people that matter most! Whether it be making dance videos, painting ads, quoting movies, awkward smiling at each other randomly or just being plain crazy together, working with best friends is what makes that summer job so bearable.
Summer jobs can be a blast when you work with a great group of people.
