Dear Saxton Rose,
Please refer to the picture below as I write this letter. Let me start by introducing myself. I am a sophomore in college who loves food, music, traveling, writing, and ALL people. I attend class, dance, hang out, and work with people of color, who to me are JUST people. I see the world as a whole. I see people from all different places with all different backgrounds. Some people are from the north, from other countries, from the west. Some are black, some are white. Some are gay, some are straight. Some are sick, some are healthy. I know PEOPLE. I also know I voted for Donald Trump. Want to know the weird thing that led me to this conversation? When I walked through the doors to cast my first vote not a thought about race came into my mind. You might say "well then maybe I should hook my brain to an electrical grid" but maybe you should too if you think that just because I voted for Trump means I second everything he does. Nobody is going to like everything you do. As an adult, you should know that. Not everyone aggresses with what you do and you can't impress everyone, right? I voted for trump because some of his policies stood out to me. But I do know after voting for trump I have NEVER so rudely discussed a Democrats' vote/opinion. Trump says vulgar things that make me cringe indeed, but are you any better? This entire sentence is nothing but vulgar. I have to assume your uneducated on the department of respect and just forgive you. Because I still see you as a person, just like I do with everyone else, and I mean everyone. Crazy, right? I'm just some racist in denial who needs to hook my brain up, since I am full of guilt and have no way of justifying my vote. Maybe I should make a status of assumptions and file you into a category. I do not feel guilty for MY decision. I do not need to justify MY vote. How would you like it if I called you a baby murderer? That sounds crazy doesn't it because maybe you're not, because voting for Hilary doesn't mean aborition crossed your mind. But most importantly because maybe you don't see aborition as murder as I do not see my vote for Trump causing racism within my own mind. Do you see what crazy false accusations lead to? Never categorize a political party into one statement. Everyone has different reasons to justify their vote such as owning a business, taxes, aborition issues, healthcare opinions and more. Also, Sean I was able to comprehend the sentence very clearly. Wow, those complete sentences were hard to understand... maybe it was my double major college education that got me though it. Thank god for those things!!
