Depression Is Not A Game & effects even the strong

Yes, I am living in Thailand. Yes, I have a loving boyfriend. Yes, I have little debt. Yes, my family and friends love me. Yes, on paper it seems like I have a great life. Yes, I have depression. Having a perfect life on paper does not mean that you are not able to have depression.

Remember your life can seem perfect but you can still have depression. You might not realize that you have depression or if your friends/family/loved ones have depression. Someone else might say your life is amazing and might question why you have depression when you have an amazing life. That doesn't mean you can't have depression because depression is based on your mind and how you think. You might succeed in your life and have people who love you and you might not always believe it. When you don't believe you can have depression.

What has helped with me is talking with my friends, my boyfriend, my family, working out, medication, meditation, and trying to live in the moment. All of this has helped me get better. Has helped me realize how much I have in my life. Has allowed me to be grateful for what I have and realize that life is going to be okay. It has taken a while for this to happen, it doesn't happen over night, and has taken a lot of work but with some patience, some screaming, and some hating life I have realized that I can conquer anything.

Remember that if someone appears to have the best life they can still have depression. Do not let smiles fool you. Do not let someone's appearance fool you. Watch them and listen to what they are not saying. Ask them how they are feeling, if they have depression or anxiety, and let them know you are there for them.

Sometimes it is hard to find people who understand and who know what you are going through. It is being on your own but no one really is-you can always reach out to someone for help. Your feelings are valid. Your emotions are normal. Talk to people about it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
