Here's a Reminder That You're Doing Just Fine

As 2018 comes to an end and we celebrate the start of a new year, many people find themselves reflecting on the last 365 days and what they may or may not have accomplished. Whether your list of achievements could fit on a Post-It note or be turned into a novel, it's OK.

You're doing just fine and everything is OK.

People tend to overlook certain accomplishments because they're perceived as small or insignificant. Celebrate what you get done! Whether you may think of it as simple or meaningless, be proud of the little things. It could be passing a test, getting a compliment at work, or even getting out of bed- they're achievements, so be proud of yourself! The little things that are often overlooked deserve some recognition, too. Something you may look upon as a minor detail in your life could be a major stepping stone in someone else's life.

Take time to recognize and reward yourself for anything you cross off your to-do list because you're doing just fine.

When things are seeming to become too tough to handle, try not to stress too much. You're doing OK and everything will turn out fine. Life can certainly be hard and troubling, so never forget to take some time for yourself and think about all that you've gotten done. It's important to take care of yourself, and one of the most crucial parts of that is recognizing your accomplishments. Never look down on something you achieved just because you don't think that it's particularly special or rewardable. I can't stress enough that the little things are just as significant as the big things. Maybe you're at a point where you can only get the little stuff done- that's perfectly OK! Effort is effort, no matter the size.

When things get difficult, remember to appreciate yourself and everything you've done, and remember that you will be fine.

As we say goodbye to this year and welcome 2019, please remember that you are doing just fine. Wherever you are in your life and whatever you may be going through, it's going to be OK. Be proud of what you've accomplished, big or small, and just know that there are so many more opportunities to achieve that are coming your way.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
