The term Yoga Gents can mean different things depending on who you ask and where they are from.

For some it’s an instructor, others it’s a yoga studio, while still others say it’s a certain style of yoga practiced by both men and women. However, in Bali, the term Yoga Gents refers to an ancient yoga practice that brings together various styles of yoga that are traditionally taught to women only and were kept secret from the outside world for hundreds of years.

What Is Yoga?

The Sanskrit word yoga means to unite. In the context of yoga, it refers to the experience of joining together with the divine. Traditionally, yoga is a spiritual and physical practice that unites mind, body and spirit. While there are many different forms of yoga, all share these common principles. They aim to calm and balance the nervous system while releasing stress, anxiety, depression and anger. Yoga also helps release endorphins in your brain which make you feel happy! There are different schools of thought on how one should approach their practice- some people like a Vinyasa style where they move fluidly through postures while others prefer a more mindful approach that focuses on breathing techniques. Whatever style you choose- know that it’s about doing what feels right for you . You can have any type of yoga class you want as long as you have a teacher who understands your needs and limits. And remember, it's not just about having strong hamstrings or abs; it's about cultivating inner peace.

Who Are The Yoga Gents?

The Yoga Gents are a modern yoga practice founded by Rian Trompeter in Bali, Indonesia. As the world's first flow yoga studio exclusively for men, the Yoga Gents offer a space to explore and grow their masculine energies in a nurturing and safe environment. Their mission is to help men find peace within themselves through movement, meditation and conversation. In addition to their classes, The Yoga Gents offer workshops on subjects like surfing, skateboarding, mindfulness and more. They also offer an apprenticeship program for anyone interested in becoming a certified Yoga Gents teacher. You can learn more about their programs here! 1) Discover What Makes Them Unique

How Do I Join?

To join us on the mat, all you need is a pair of clean white cotton shorts and comfortable sandals. An instructor will lead you through what to do at the beginning of class so don't worry about being confused - we want to make sure this new experience is as enjoyable as possible!

1. First, remove your shoes and roll up your yoga pants up past your shins and place them nearby, then lay out a yoga mat near the front of the room (facing downward).

2. Come to hands-and-knees position directly in front of the mat, with palms down on either side of your rib cage and fingers pointing forward. Align your kneecaps over your heels or toes; whichever feels most natural. Draw your shoulder blades back and towards each other, draw your head towards the floor and let your neck release away from the shoulders. Next take three deep breaths by inhaling slowly through the nose and exhaling out of the mouth without any tension in any part of the body. Finally, come into child's pose with knees together, big toes touching behind knees, soles of feet together. Take a couple minutes here to connect mindfully before coming back into child's pose again but this time sitting on your heels instead (keep knees wide apart)

Why Join This Group?

Every day we hear, yoga is good for you! but when it comes to yoga classes in Bali, we are not always welcomed. Women make up the majority of any given class and men often feel like they do not belong. For men who want to try yoga and have a group of other men to practice with, there is Yoga Gent! They are a group that meets every Saturday morning at 10 am at Canggu Club House just outside of Ubud.

Joining this group will give you an opportunity to explore new ways to relax and strengthen your mind and body in a safe environment with like-minded people. You don't need any previous experience or any equipment because all you need is the motivation to show up! Bring water, a towel if you have one, and be ready to sweat.

The session starts off with gentle stretching and then moves into challenging poses for strength building followed by meditation and restorative poses for peace of mind. All levels are welcome from beginner to advanced! The class size ranges from six students on average to as many as 20 students which can create an intense workout atmosphere if that's what you're looking for (or you can be surrounded by positivity).

This program offers a well-rounded experience focused on flexibility, balance, and strength while practicing mindfulness through awareness of breath control.

What Should I Expect at the First Class?

The first class is a free trial session, which includes a 30 minute practice. If you are interested in continuing with the program, payment will be due at that time. The classes are mixed level and include poses and exercises to help increase flexibility, strength, and stamina. The class is taught by an experienced instructor who will teach in English if requested.

Expect to feel refreshed and energized after this challenging yet relaxing practice! You may also experience decreased stress levels, improved sleep quality, and more energy during your day-to-day life. Join us on our journey to make these changes happen!

The class is mixed level, so beginners are welcome. Students should bring their own mat or towel as well as a bottle of water (although bottled water can be purchased from the studio).

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots.
