At times, it may not seem like it, but the world truly is yours to take and run with. The future is in the hands of those who see the beauty in it. Giving up is no option, because what other road is there to take besides working hard and not giving up? There is no option other than persistence. Everything else should not be an option.
We're a couple of weeks into the school year and it's sad to say, but some people are already stressed out of their mind and are at the brink of giving up. So, to my friends that are ready to give up because of a failed chemistry test and a bad soccer game- here's my advice. Just don't. We all have bad days. But, you know what, stars can't shine without a little darkness. How can you differentiate good between bad in life, if you've never been exposed to the bad? Like a glow stick, we all need to break before we can shine.
Bad days, bad moments, bad times, are all part of a rite of passage that forces us to find the good in everything life throws at us, like a yin-yang. There is good in the bad, and bad in the good. But, think about it. Wouldn't life be so much more beautiful and enjoyable if we all focused on the good inside of everything, rather than stress ourselves to death over the bad?
Don't stress. Relax, life is not over because you missed a goal or forgot your homework. Even if you got a 33 on a test you thought that you aced - life wont pass you by and leave you in the dust because of it. We all make mistakes, but they never, I assure you, never, are the end of the world. Last week, I thought my life was over when I didn't perform at my best during a field hockey game. I did so horrible that after the game, I cried to my mom and assumed my life was over, nobody would ever talk to me again and I had let the whole team down.
Sure enough, I survived, and I'm here to tell my story. I was this close to giving up, but instead, I came back with a positive mindset on Monday, I performed better, had higher energy, and a confident, more positive mindset. Today, I scored my first goal! Everything get's better, and you have to be there to see it.
No mistake that you make is ever as damaging and costly as your mind makes you believe. You can recover from a failed test, or even from something more serious, like a sickness or an injury. There is always light at the end of the tunnel. No matter how dark it gets, keep navigating the road because you need to be there when the light shines through.
Be positive. Nothing positive will come to you if you have a negative mindset.
All of your hard work counts for something. What you're doing is worthwhile. Don't question yourself, the wonderful grades that you are getting or even strive to get will take you to great places. You are worth it, you are worthwhile. You are doing great things. Work hard, put in effort, persist, and never look back. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
