Eh, maybe next year, right?

December 31st marks the annual ritual of deciding what to improve ourselves for the New Year. Of course, January 1st is spent recovering from other New Year's rituals, and then January 2nd rolls around. Next thing you know, it's time to make a new resolution! Here are twelve common resolutions that never make it past the ball drop.

1. Cut back on the calories

It's a new year but those cookies have never looked better.

2. Put some money into a savings account

Your savings account has probably gathered dust by now.

3. Drink more water and less vodka sours

It might not be as fun, but your liver will thank you! And try to be back home before three in the morning, after drinking all of that water we talked about.

4. Make more than one appearance in the library

The library has more to offer than just books! But, the couch has a lot to offer, too.

5. Spend less money on coffee

A lack of caffeine will impact more people than just yourself, and not in a positive way. Others will thank you, sip on.

6. Call home more often

Another talk about my relationship status? I'll pass.

7. Change up the wardrobe

But it took a whole year to wear in those leggings.

8. Become more sociable

Netflix, or small talk? Exactly!

9. Make laundry a more regular task

C'mon, there isn't a stain on it, how bad could it be?

10. Have a more extravagant relationship

Since when was napping not considered extravagant?

11. Figure out what to do for the rest of your life

Does anyone have a good answer to this question? Asking for a friend.

12. Stop procrastinating

I'm sure tomorrow will work just fine...

So, if any of these resolutions sound oddly familiar, know that you are not alone. Why are we trying to change our habits, anyway? Bye bye, 'new year, new me'! This year let's focus on loving ourselves for who we are, even if that means dirty laundry and debt.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
