If there’s one thing I hate in this world, it’s the word “normal.” I’m sorry but what the fook is that? I don’t know if that was something they taught in elementary school, but lemme just tell ya I must’ve been napping through that one because cha gurl is one hell of a distance from being “normal.” I’m sorry, but who wants to be normal?! Just the word itself is so... Bland.

Everybody has their crazy, weird, and fun side, but so many people hold it back for fear of being judged. You know what I say? F**K THAT NOISE. You want to dye your hair purple and walk down the street in a panda onesie? Hell yea you bet your a** you will. In my 20 years of roaming this majestic Earth, the one thing I have learned that always gets me through the day is to just do you.

Who cares what anyone else thinks? At the end of the day, those who really love you love you for you no matter what shape, size, color, or status of weirdo you are. Not sure how to fully embrace yourself for who you are and run with it? Here are some helpful ways to start:

1. Dance like you mean it

It’s 12 in the morning, the dance floor's looking a little weak, when all of a sudden BOOM your jam comes on and you’re doing everything you can to sit still. YOU’RE DOING IT WRONG.

Get your booty up and drop it like it’s hotter than hot. I’m talking scorching people. Think you look ridiculous? You definitely do. That’s the point. Who cares, you’re werking it and having a time- everyone else can just watch you and wish they were able to take that branch out of their a**.

2. Stop caring

I know it sounds cliché but seriously life is too short. Do you really think the little things like how many Instagram followers you have or how many guys you “accidentally” drunk texted will matter in a week, let alone when you’re 40?? Say what you want (as long as it doesn’t hurt others- c’mon filters are important people), do what you want, as long as you are happy that is seriously all that matters. Be selfish and put yourself first cuz ya know what? WHO CARES.

3. Accept being called crazy

You think I’m crazy? That’s weird because somebody called me insane like twenty minutes ago so you must not think as highly of me as they do! I can’t tell you the number of times people have called me weird, crazy, insane, nuts, whatever you get the picture.

All I say to that is THANK YOU. You’re most definitely not wrong, I’m a nut! But I love who I am for that reason exactly- it’s who I am. You don’t like it? Sucks to suck, you don’t have to like me. Never let anyone's words define you other than your own. You are who you are so own it.

It definitely is not easy to feel like you’re “different” or an “outsider,” especially when you’re in your years of adolescence. Screw being “normal”- news flash it’s all a construct. You are who you are, no questions asked. Everybody is different and you should never want to be anybody other than yourself. If anyone ever tries to change you into someone you’re not then run in the opposite direction. Maybe even sprint.

Love yourself, do your thang, and let your freak flag fly. In fact, let it soar, because at the end of the day if you don’t love yourself then how can anyone else?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
