Clinton v. Trump, Facebook v. Twitter, Walking Dead v. Game of Thrones. There has been, and always will be, great debates among some of the most popular things in the world. One of the hottest topics, in my opinion, is the Xbox v. PlayStation debate. I have been playing video games for years. I started playing the Nintendo 64 when I was a child and now I play the Xbox One. I have had my fair share of Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and I feel like I am in a good spot to make a decision. Which system is better?
I currently own an Xbox One and a PlayStation 4. The system I play a lot more than the other is the Xbox One. I believe that the Xbox One is the best system out there. Many people disagree though. The haters will claim that the PlayStation has better graphics, or that the PlayStation has better games. These arguments are valid in some aspects but it isn't a good enough argument to win the war. Here are my reasons why I know that the Xbox is better than the PlayStation 4.
Most people who play video games, play in order to game with their friends. This reason in its own is enough to pull the Xbox ahead of the PS4. The Xbox is known for having a great social system that easily allows you to play with your friends. It might take all of two buttons to join my friends in a party. The Xbox is very reliable and helpful with keeping it's social aspect of gaming up. While party's may lag behind sometimes, it isn't enough for me to hate on the system. All gaming systems have trouble keeping everything perfect but the Xbox comes darn close to perfection. I can play with my friends, wherever and whenever without a problem, and I love it.
Another thing is that there are plenty of memes and compilations of people "raging" on Xbox. What I mean by that is that a lot of kids will scream and swear because the game didn't go their way, and it is perfect entertainment. My opinion on the matter is, if the game isn't enough to entertain you, go into gamechat and listen to the kids flip out. Go play a game of Call of Duty. Go into game chat and listen to kids rage over getting killed in spawn. I can hear the screams right now, "HOW DID I DIE", "HEAD SHOT WHAAAAAAAAAT"! Xbox can entertain you with its games and its community
Another thing that I love about Xbox is the backwards compatibility of games. The Xbox One allows you to put a game in from the Xbox 360, and still allow you to play it. We can all go back to the Call of Duty Black Op games we knew and loved on our Xbox One. Sooner or later, the community will get Modern Warfare 2 backwards compatible, but that is a rant for another time.
The PlayStation does have pros too. The graphics are really good, the games are good, and the community is good. The only problem is, it doesn't connect to the casual gamer enough. The system is great if you play games by yourself and don't play with your friends, but the second you play an online game, the quality of the system drops. The social aspect of the system lags behind Xbox. While you can play any online game like Xbox, the quality isn't as good. It is harder to talk to your friends, the connection drops a lot and it doesn't seem to fit right.
The debate about Xbox and PlayStation will go on until video games aren't a thing anymore. So be ready to never hear the end of this topic. It is important to pick a side and stick with that side through thick and thin. I have been with Xbox for eight years, and through the rough times, I stay. Whenever you think Xbox v. PlayStation, always think Xbox.
