Writer's Block is the Worst

Have you ever experienced writer's block? It sucks.

Writer's Block is the Worst

I'm sitting on my bed, having one of the strongest writer's block that I have ever had. I have googled ideas, laid here and stared at my screen. And this is after I ate some tacos for a late dinner and almost decided to write about said tacos. So let's just say today, I'm winging it.

Writer's block is the condition of being unable to think about what to write or how to go about writing. I'm a writer, obviously. And it kills me how much I get writer's block. I mean, I will have so many ideas one moment and then all of a sudden, I can't even get myself to start typing the next moment. I have several way to beat my writer's block.

I will first listen to some music. Songs inspire me most of the time so listening to it helps get the ideas flowing. Glee is one of my favorite shows that I have watched on Netflix. Sometimes I will just look up some of the Glee versions of songs. They are wonderful and the clips with them are inspirational.

If music isn't helping, then I will watch something on Netflix. I might watch a random movie. But most of the time, I just continue with the series that I am in the middle of watching. I have just finished season six of Shameless and started catching up with season six of The Walking Dead. Both are really good shows if you want to know. I just watch a few episodes and it helps relieve the block on my thoughts. Sometimes the shows even help me create a new idea or twist to whatever I am writing.

Then the last thing I do to help get rid of the ever so horrible writer's block, I read. I read mostly on Wattpad, a site where you can write stories or read other people's stories. I will read one of the updates or start reading a new story. It helps take my mind off the block and just gets me in the writing mood if nothing else helps.

After trying all of this, if I can't seem to will myself to write. I will take a break, calm down, or take a nap if I can then try again later. Sometimes you can't beat writer's block. And it is okay if you can't. But if you can, then that's great. I hope the ways I help myself get out of the rut can help you guys next time you have writer's block.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
