Thanksgiving break has arrived, which means one thing and only thing only...
...its time to let out your inner back home baller. From free food and laundry to having to deal with your weird neighbor and family asking you three trillion questions about your life, Thanksgiving Break is like no other. Here is the break down of the best and worst parts about coming home for Thanksgiving Break.
The Best
1. Food. All of the glorious, wonderful, and of course free food your heart and stomach could desire.
2. No roommates for a week.
3. Getting to spend time with your favorite creature(s).
4. Getting to see your old friends.
5. Your parents treat you like royalty.
6. Free laundry, and if you're really experiencing number five you might not even have to do it yourself.
7. Your family sends you back with all of the leftover Thanksgiving food.
8. Naps, even if you're not tired, you can nap just because you want to.
9. You can stay stay in on Friday and Saturday with no shame what-so-ever.
The Worst
1. The travel back never runs smoothly because everyone is trying to head home too.
2. Your mom has inevitably scheduled your dentist, doctors, and eye appointments all during your break.
3. The semester isn't over yet, which means professors expect you to still do homework and study.
4. No matter how big or small your hometown is, chances are you will run into someone you do not want to see.
5. You're no longer on your own schedule, you have to work around your families schedule if you want to do anything.
6. You don't have your gym membership anymore back home, so all of the food and no exercise has you feeling like a slug.
7. Your extended family asks you a million and one questions the second you step in the door for Thanksgiving dinner.
8. You were so excited about heading home, you most likely forgot to pack everything and have to work with what you left home at the beginning of the semester.
9. It flies by way too quickly and you end up not doing anything productive what-so-ever.
But hey that's okay, whether your professors like it or not, it is a break, and if binge watching all of the shows you had your DVR record is wrong, chances are you don't want to be right. Enjoy your time with you family and friends, bring a large hat and sunglasses with you in case you need to avoid that one kid from high school that you run into at Target, and catch up on sleep because finals are right around the corner.
