It's no secret that the holidays are the best time of the year! Family is visiting from out of town, the weather is cooling down (Florida problems), you get to eat you weight in a variety of pies, and Target is displaying all the best things in the Dollar Spot. For so many of us, the holidays are the bees knees.

However, have you ever worked in retail during the holidays? Yeah, it's not always a good time. From the long hours on your feet to the rudest people you've ever met, working in retail can definitely take all the jolly out of the holidays.

So you want to know what retail employees are really thinking?

1. Why are there so many people!

The parking lots are packed, the walk ways are packed, and all you're trying to do is get to work...maybe even stop for a Starbucks to get you through your shift dealing with the general public.

2. There are no other sizes in the back, but sure I'll pretend to look for you

No, there is not someone in the back 24/7 making new product. When we say it's all out, I-T-S A-L-L O-U-T!

3. I really don't have time to pick you out an outfit for your party that's tonight

4. Please don't tell me about your very personal life problems right now

I know we all need to vent, but ma'am I just met you and your telling me about very personal things in the fitting room and I'd like to leave...like 10 minutes ago.

5. WHY ARE YOUR KIDS NOT SUPERVISED

Excuse me, sir. Yeah, your child just ran out of the store...Seriously, I don't want to clean up your kids Cheerios, ice cream, or spilled drink. Also, I don't want to clean up their blood because you're not watching them and they have now fallen and hit their face on a mannequin.

6. Sure, I'll get the manager...to tell you everything I just did

7. Ugh, I really don't feel like going out after work

Friends, I love you, but I've spent the day with people and I kind of just want fuzzy socks and wine.

8. YES! All the customers are out of the store!

That sweet, sweet, satisfying moment of peace and quiet....oh, and, of course, cleaning the store now....

So, to conclude, just be nice when you're out shopping. These employees are spending barely any time with their family and friends, and they don't need to deal with your snotty attitude!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
