Everyone incorporates media into their life somehow. Whether it's watching the news on the television, reading about what's happening in a newspaper, or scrolling through a social media app, media is everywhere. Media platforms are very useful to us as a society because they are our communication outlets. Media platforms open up the barriers for people to talk, argue, share ideas and discuss. They are used to store information. It is forever changing and growing. Just as we advance as a society, so do our media platforms. Since we have integrated media into our lives so much already, it will not be easy to just go back to living without it.

One major way media is incorporated into our lives is through social media. In today's world, it might sound strange if someone is not on any social media site. Social media can be a great tool to showcase who you are or what you have been doing, but it can also be harmful. While others choose to use their media pages for productive or creative reasons, others decide to abuse their privileges of the internet. Which is a main reason why I want to work in the media field. There are so many people that think that the media is just damaging and who don't see the amazing potential social media has when used correctly. I want to show that social media can and should be used for good purposes.

I want to work in the media industry, and I cannot wait to get started.

My dream job would be running a company's online page or their social media accounts. It's essential for business to be online in today's world because the internet is the first place people go when they want to learn about something. It's not uncommon today for people to judge from anyone's online profile, and this goes for companies too. Keeping up with what's trending while also getting the company's message across is not an easy chore. There are many ways a person could interpret a social media post, so there is a thorough process to choose what to post, but you must also keep up the creativity while deciding.

For me, working in the media industry also means being truthful. Company social media accounts should be unbiased and inclusive, and people should want to look more into your company when they see posts. Creating a social media page is no easy task since you have to be mindful of many different things, but it truly is my dream job to showcase how well social media can improve a company. If media can help one person by improving their lifestyle, then this leads to a domino effect, and there could be many happy customers if the media page is handled correctly.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
