It’s easy to be discouraged from even thinking about suiting up as Wonder Woman with so many people saying it’s overrated. Well, I am here to tell you that Wonder Woman is probably one of the only costume ideas you should be considering.
If you have seen the new Wonder Woman movie, you probably left that theater ready to take on the world. If watching Gal Gadot fearlessly strut down a battlefield, bullets hitting her body, dressed like a U.S. gladiator, didn't give you chills then you have no soul.
She's confident, she's powerful, and most of all she's an independent woman.
"It's overdone."
There is a reason that women everywhere have dressed up as Wonder Woman for so many years: she's a certified badass. You shouldn't be discouraged by the fact that so many woman want to also embody themselves as such a powerful character. She symbolizes kindness, justice, and goodness. Who wouldn't want to spread that message?
"It's an excuse to dress slutty for Halloween."
First of all, slut-shaming has never been cool, but that's off topic. Who says that a woman can be smart, brave, and look good while she's doing it. Women aren't trying to be Wonder Woman to be sexy, they're trying to be Wonder Woman to feel confident. I can honestly say that wearing a metal bustier and knee high boots would be highly empowering.
"But she's a feminist."
You're dang right she is! This isn't even a negative thing, so I won't dive too deep into it but Wonder Woman comes from a nation of all females, what did you expect?
So go ahead, grab those gold cuffs, knee highs, and be the hero you want to be. If anyone else has something to say then they need the lasso of truth because they're mistaken.
