It is 12:00. I'm in 4th period and my phone starts to buzz. I take a quick peek look at while making sure my teacher won't catch me. I receive the shocking news that the Cleveland Cavaliers have blown up their roster. First D-Wade returns to his home in Miami. Then I saw the message about Isiah Thomas leaving for LA. Finally i saw the message about Derrick Rose to... Utah. My mind fell into a flurry calculation how the Cavs would do in the second half of the season. Would their struggles continue, or would they rise above them and become the once dominant team of the east? Right now the Boston Celtics sit at 39-16 seven games in front of the Cavs. While I do think the Celtics will take the 1st seed in the playoff, LeBron and his newly assembled team should be able to take down the Celtics in five or six hard fought games. The contributions of young players such as Jordan Clarkson should help overpower the overmatched Cavs and good role players such as Rodney Hood and Larry Nance should provide helpful contributions. The real challenge will be the NBA finals. Any of the top 5 seeds should give Cleveland a run for its money but Golden State and Houston have the best change of winning.
The NBA has gifted us with an Offseason full of so much drama and intensity and a regular season filled with its ups and downs. This sport is ever changing and as it changes, a winner will be crowned.
