You know when life is just going exactly how you want it to, and then all of the sudden one thing goes wrong? It feels like your whole world is rocked. You were on a breezy roll coaster and then suddenly there are no tracks left.
The biggest lesson in life that I have learned so far is this: it goes on. It doesn't matter how bad you want time to stop. It keeps going and there's nothing you can do or say about it. Since this is the case, the best way to keep a positive attitude is to just roll with the punches.
I can apply this to my own life in several instances. When I was 16 years of age, I played competitive travel volleyball. I went to try out at the club that I'd been at for years, and I was so optimistic for the season and for my team. However, as soon as I got to tryouts, everything was different. Without going into too much detail, my team and I were essentially screwed over and we all ended up having to part ways. A few girls from my team and myself went to a new club, where we were split up, once again.
At the time, I remember this being the biggest stressor of my life. However, this actually turned out to be one of the best things that could've happened to me. I played one age group above my level, and I was blessed to have a great group of girls that all got along with one another. I improved tremendously that year, and though it ended up being my last year of volleyball, it leaves me with a sense of pride knowing that was the last volleyball team I'll ever be on.
Essentially, I can apply this mantra to every experience in my life. I'm the biggest worrier on the planet. Everything, and yes, I mean everything, stresses me out to the max. However, when I look back on every life experience, I begin to realize that everything that has ever seemed stressful has worked out exactly how its supposed to.
The other thing about life is that it always ends the way that it should. We may not agree with the plan laid ahead for us, but I'll tell you that it is much easier giving into that plan than living a miserable life and feeling sorry for yourself all of the time. Life can be difficult, but when you go with the flow it can be one of the greatest rides of your life.
