Is it weird that I want to wake up earlier?

First, I congratulate all morning persons everywhere. You always manage to wake up early and not have a problem with it. I wish I could be like you, but no matter how hard I try, I just can’t seem to wake up before 10 AM. I try to wake up at 9 o’clock, which isn’t even that early, but it never seems to happen for me. I want to wake up earlier and if I did, I could do so much more. If I was a morning person…

1. I could be more productive.

2. I could clean.

3. I can get organized for the day.

4. I could go for a run.

5. I could stretch.

6. I could work out.

7. I wouldn’t sit around all day.

8. I could actually get dressed rather than stay in pajamas all day.

9. I could actually make my bed.

10. I could eat a healthier breakfast.

11. I could watch the sunrise.

12. I could take my dog for a walk.

13. I wouldn’t have to set my alarm clock.

14. I could take early morning classes.

15. I could run errands.

16. I’d be able to go to bed earlier.

17. I could read.

18. I could do homework.

19. I wouldn’t have to worry about waking up on time for morning activities.

Now, as I avoid early morning classes and struggle to wake up any earlier than 10 AM this summer, I wonder how I made it through all of high school having to wake up at 6 AM and be ready on time for when the bus showed up in front of my house forty-five minutes later. The only thing I seem to do to be productive in the morning is do laundry because it doesn’t require a lot of thinking. At least I don’t sleep through my alarm. Now, let me set something straight I’m not that cranky person in the morning that always seems to wake up on the wrong side of the bed, but if I’m that tired when I finally roll out of bed I need a little time and some coffee to fully wake up. Hopefully, one day this struggle won’t be real anymore and I could wake up and be the productive morning person I always wish I could be.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
