During the winter months, skincare is essential to add to my daily routine. For most people, including myself, dryness and dull-looking skin occur. Luckily, I have found 5 products that I believe are necessities during the winter to prevent this. The products listed can assist in not only brightening your skin, but also hydrating and clearing for awesome results.

1. Mary Kay Timeless Moisturizer

Keeping your skin hydrated during the winter is essential. Personally, my skin looks dull during the winter months and moisturizing is a key factor to maintaining a healthy glow. Mary Kay timeless moisturizer is my go-to for accomplishing this. I use this moisturizer twice a day — once in the morning and once at night. Not only is it a great moisturizer for the winter, but it also works great in the summer and contains SPF 30. This product also doubles as a primer before I apply my makeup.

2. Clarisonic Spin Brush

Cleaning your skin the right way is an important part of controlling acne and preventing unwanted oil and dirt. The Clarisonic spin brush is my saving grace for doing all of these things! It cleans six times better than washing your face with your hands. It brightens skin, helps fight acne, and can be used all over your body! I especially love using it in the winter to properly clean my face in order to prevent acne. I use this brush once each day, and you can use any cleanser with it.

3. ClearProof Charcoal Mask

Who doesn’t love a great skincare mask in the winter? My new favorite is the ClearProof charcoal mask from Mary Kay. The charcoal acts like a magnet to unclog pores. The formula is great for absorbing oil and reducing shine if you have oily skin! For $24 and roughly 30 uses, I would say that it’s a great skincare investment. I use this mask once or twice each week to give my skin the healthy treatment it needs.

4. Bioré Charcoal Acne Cleanser

As you can probably tell, I have a love for any skincare product containing charcoal. I have found that it works wonders on my skin! It is an oil-free cleanser that works great for combination skin like mine, for example. I use this product each day with my Clarisonic brush. You can find this product at Target or Ulta Beauty.

5. FRESH Rose Face Mask

This face mask is the best thing to happen to my skin. The mask is infused with real rose petals that hydrate and tone the skin. It is a great solution for dryness, redness, or large pores. Additionally, the mask works great for all skin types, including normal, dry, oily, combination, and sensitive. The 30- or 100-oz. bottle of heaven is sold at Sephora or online.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
