It's the second day of Spring and the snowing winter seems to keep getting pushed back, starting later in the season than usual. Global warming could have something to do with it. I'm not complaining; I don't mind having it rain and spend more time in the cold if it means not having to deal with pollen.
It's kind of surprising to see it snow during this time, especially since it hasn't snowed this late in the year and this much since two years ago. Even thought it's not a lot, I'm still excited to see it snow again even if it is just one of four days from the winter season.
Last time it snowed like this class was cancelled, so I'm sure a lot of people (including myself) were disappointed when they checked their emails this morning and found that only classes before 10 am were cancelled. With the roads and sidewalks so icy and slippery I had to get out early enough to make sure I made it to class on time.
To add to that, the buses were taking longer because of the icy roads and I wasn't about to wait 15 minutes in the cold waiting for a bus, so I ended up walking to class. When I got to class the professor wasn't there, and most of the seats were also empty. Usually, when it snows like this I would expect most people to miss class, but considering we have an exam next class and we still had notes to cover I was a little taken aback. But for the few of us who make the trek to class we waited, it was only ten minutes after class was supposed to start and that's when we received emails from the professor saying we weren't going to make it.
With it already being spring and April right around the corner, I think this is probably going to be the last snowfall of the season. But there's a part of me that just wants the cold to be over even if that means dealing with pollen symptoms. I think now the only weather we have to look forward to is April showers. But until then stay warm and be careful!
