Winter Break, As Told By "Mean Girls"

Ah, winter break: a time when your to-do list, at long last, consists of absolutely nothing. It’s time to kick back, relax, and take complete advantage of having an entire month off. However, sometimes that month off turns into too much time. The following GIFs from everyone’s favorite movie, "Mean Girls," will explain your winter break.

When you come home, you’re immediately bombarded with questions about final exams, but you swerve every single one of them and bee-line it for your bed:

You’re not used to doing any chores around the house, so when your parents ask you to do something as small as making your bed:

You totally forgot to buy any Christmas presents, so you pick up the squad and head to the mall:

When your friends offer up the idea of going to some party where you know you’ll see everyone you hated from high school:

But you go anyway, and all you feel is:

Waking up Christmas morning with all your siblings like:

When Santa actually listens and you get what you asked for:

When you try to escape the kid’s table for Christmas dinner but the adults are all like:

When an argument about politics breaks out at the dinner table and you’re like:

When you’re trying to choose an outfit for New Year’s Eve, but you’ve eaten so much over break that it’s just not working in your favor:

When midnight approaches the night of New Year’s Eve, and every girl in the room is scavenging for a midnight kiss:

Once January hits, you feel as though this break couldn’t go any slower. You’ve run out of fun things to do, so your last resort for Saturday nights is as simple as getting food:

Finally, break is over. But unfortunately, you don’t know what you have until it’s gone, and this is your first reaction once you’ve gotten back to school:

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
