With winter break on its last few days, college students all over prepare for the spring semester with bittersweet feelings. Here are the 12 phases of a college student's winter break as told by the incredible Bob's Burgers:

1. Finals are over and it is time to see your dog and eat mom's cooking.

2. Finally reuniting with old friends and providing a full 30-minute lecture on what has happened the past four months.

3. Sleeping in so late into the afternoon that your family has to come in and check if you are still alive.

4. CHRISTMAS!

5. New Year's Eve party invites remind you that you have avoided human interaction since the 25th.

6. Parents and siblings head back to school and work so you are left home alone all day.

7. Clean clothes are nowhere to be found and your suitcase looks like the floor of Forever 21.

8. The time comes to buy school supplies and start thinking about spring semester classes.

9. Realizing you get to see your weird friends soon.

10. Saying goodbye to your dog.

11. Driving 80mph into broke, semi-adulthood.

12. Arriving in your college town and seeing all your best friends in one place again.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
