Will You Still Go To The Movies?

Think twice about your safety while in the movie theater!

Will You Still Go To The Movies?

When you think of Nashville, Tennessee, what do you think of? Country music, concerts, southern food, and southern hospitality. On Wednesday, August 5, 2015, a Tennessee theater got a major scare. A gunman who was armed with a pellet gun, a hatchet, and pepper spray walked into a suburban Nashville movie theater. There were three people who were injured. Two women were pepper sprayed, and a man was sprayed and also suffered a superficial injury to his shoulder from a hatchet. They were treated at the scene.

There has been too many incidents related to people attending a movie at their local theater. Just two weeks ago, there was a gunman that opened fire inside a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana. Two people were killed and nine were wounded before the gunman turned the gun on himself. How could anyone forget the Aurora, Colorado, shooting? It seemed like a nightmare that you would never want to happen. There were 12 people killed and 70 injured.

These people who have created these awful tragedies are either cowards or created to be someone who is mentally ill. Not enough of them get the sentence they deserve. They either kill themselves or get killed, or they plead that they are not mentally stable. If these people are not mentally stable, how in the world do they get their hands on guns? Thankfully, the shooter at the Aurora, Colorado, shooting should be receiving the death penalty.

You would never think that something of this magnitude would happen so close to home. My mom made the comment when hearing about this scare in Nashville that she does not even want to go to a movie. I do not blame her. It is scary to think that you have spent your whole life not worried about going to the movies until all these tragedies have happened.

I would not doubt that in the near future, or in a few years, there will be almost like airport security to get into the movies. If you really think about it, that is what this world is coming to. No one can do anything without feeling unsafe. This country has gone downhill so quickly, we are not sure how to catch up.

It is sad that so many people of this world have to live in fear. I wish someone knew why we have so much evil in this world. In my own opinion it seems to be getting worse. Our government and justice system has become lax on these killers and evildoers in the world. Before we know it, it will be so far out of our hands that there is no way we can stop all the tragedies.

eye roll

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.

15 Things That Happen On Your Birthday

Do you have a small get-together or throw a big bash?

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.
