I, along with many others I'm sure, was super excited to see A Dog's Purpose. I am an animal lover and thought this movie looked so sweet and adorable. To take a movie and make it through a dog's perspective as he gets reincarnated to a different type of dog each time he passes away is unique and a great way to think about a dog's life. It's kind of humbling to think that once a dog passes away his journey does not end, but continues just in the form of another dog. That way the dog gets the chance to make all sorts of people happy. Great storyline followed by some great actors in this production.

On January 18, 2017, footage from behind the scenes was leaked and showed something horrific to animal lovers everywhere. In the video everyone can clearly see one of the crew members forcing a German Shepherd into rough, gushing waters. The German Shepherd did not want to get in at all and was obviously beyond scared. What kind of person forces a scared dog to do something it doesn't want to?

It would have been different if they had worked with the dog by gradually trying to get him in the water and if the water had not been as rough. But that was not the case. What if it had been a child? No one would ever think about doing that to a kid if he or she got scared and wanted to back out. It blows my mind as to why some people think it's okay to do that to an animal. Dogs, as well as other animals, should all be shown respect and love.

Another red flag is that they had to have a rescue team to get the German Shepherd out of the water at the very end of the video. If circumstances are THAT bad then they should probably be avoided altogether. No movie is worth risking a dog's life over.

The organization, PETA, is currently boycotting this movie and investigations are underway. In an article in

USA TODAY, PETA is quoted, asking all dog/animal lovers, "to boycott the film in order to send the message that dogs and other animals should be treated humanely, not as movie props."I know there are people out there that probably think this whole controversy is being led by overdramatic people, but think about if that was your dog. Surely it would make majority of people upset if that was their dog being mistreated. This video truly disturbed a lot of people and it has already taken a hit with premieres being canceled. Hopefully in the future crew members will think twice before mistreating an animal on set. It is inappropriate and unacceptable and as we've all seen, will not be tolerated.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
