During last year's summer transfer window in soccer, there were many reports of Paris Saint-Germain (a soccer club in France), getting a world-record bid of 222 million euros ready for Neymar Jr. next summer. Many people believed this to be a hoax, just a trick played by some media outlets for them to gain attention. During this summer transfer window, Neymar Jr. officially moved to PSG. Most soccer fans around the world were absolutely astonished, and a little disappointed as well. A 222 million euro transfer plus additional fees more than doubled the previous transfer record in soccer, a 100 million euro bid from Manchester United for Paul Pogba. Fans and also the La Liga president, Javier Tebas, were disappointed because Neymar's transfer was a great loss to La Liga soccer. When Neymar arrived at PSG he got ready for his presentation in front of the 70,000 to 80,000 PSG fans. During the presentation, he gave a speech, "I wanted something bigger, a bigger challenge," he said. "My heart wanted a new ambition, that’s why I’m here in front of you. This is what my heart told me to do. I listen to my heart every day. And my heart told me to go to PSG." In conclusion of that speech, he has had a big chance at competition at Spain when he played for FC Barcelona that he wanted to move to bigger things in his life and in turn, moved to PSG.
Paris Saint-Germain has a big squad, full of players with enormous potential. Players like Edinson Cavani, Marquinhos, Adrien Rabiot, and Dani Alves (Neymar's former FC Barcelona teammate) are just a list of many great players PSG has to offer. A very strong side for Neymar joining this superstar club is that a lot of players there are Brazilian, just like Neymar Jr. himself. Neymar has already gotten a sweet taste of what competition feels like in France when he debuted for PSG going out as 6-2 winners against Toulouse. "Neymar scored twice on his home debut as Paris St-Germain netted four of their six goals with only 10 men to thrash Toulouse and go top of Ligue 1". As of right now, the Brazilian forward has convinced PSG fans that he is the man of the moment and is totally worth every euro spent to get him transferred.
Brazilian teammates have already helped the star warm up to things at the capital. According to Neymar himself through an interview before his debut, "I spoke to the Brazilians here and I already feel at home". Since Neymar has Brazilian comrades around him and has already made a big highlight, there is a great chance he could be more successful at PSG than at Barcelona, now that he is out of the inescapable shadow of five-time Ballon D'or winner, Lionel Messi and lethal Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez.
