Music creates community.
There is nothing more satisfying than finding out someone shares the same music taste as you. You can talk about the artists, songs, patterns in music, and fangirl over pictures of the artists all day long. The best part is you can sing along to all your favorite songs together, knowing that each lyric is meaningful and enjoyable to you both.
Singing along with your favorite artists and a crowd full of fans is an unforgettable experience.
Picture this. You've been singing along to every song the entire night, along with the other 2,000 people at the venue. The band has played all of your favorite songs. During the last one, the guitars and drums cut out, leaving only the pure sound of the singer's voice and the crowd's acapella in the background. The singer then holds out the mic, so all you here are 2,000 fans screaming the most meaningful lines to the band, with the band looking astonished and satisfied. You might be squished like sardines in the crowd, but you are all singing the same songs with the same passion behind them.
Depending on the genre, concert tickets can be relatively inexpensive.
Genres with smaller audiences, such as rock, punk, and alternative, typically have cheaper tickets than mainstream pop and country artists. The average general admission ticket, which gives you access to the pit and possibly front row if you are there early enough, costs under $40. Plus, the artists typically meet their fans outside of the venue at the conclusion of the show, giving you the opportunity to meet and take pictures with your favorite bands!
I am a concert addict.
I went to my first concert four years ago. Since then, I have been to three music festivals, eight concerts, have seen about 60 different artists perform, and have only spent about $550 total to see them all. I have met and received signatures from some of my favorite bands, including Mayday Parade, Sleeping with Sirens, Grayscale, and A Day to Remember.
These are memories you will cherish forever.
Even when you are old and gray, you will still remember the lyrics to your favorite songs and reminisce the times when you could hear them live.
