I know what you're thinking. why shouldn't I hate on someone who takes people's money and doesn't give back to the community? why should I give someone the benefit of the doubt when he doesn't give back to the city that gives him so much? I'll explain, and hopefully, I can somewhat sway your thoughts on his actions (or lack thereof).

1. Your anger is justified.

Let us cast aside any doubt that anger is NOT justified because it is. Joel's inability to even show the slightest bit of human compassion to a congregation of that size is impossible to comprehend, especially since he preaches "Christianity", and is essentially the richest "Man of God" in the country. In all reality, with a building that used to house the Houston Rockets not being used as a shelter when Gallary Furniture is spending roundabout $30000 a day housing people is extremely unimaginable. You are justified in your displeasure and disgust

2. This isn't about Osteen, this is about YOU.

Truth be told, what Joel didn't do this weekend is atrocious. What is even more of an atrocity, is that in his interview he stated that he didn't open Lakewood because the city didn't ask him to. Is this the most disgusting thing I've ever heard from a man who preaches the gospel every Sunday? Yes. But what if I asked, why are YOU so concerned about it? What are YOU doing? Are you volunteering? Are you donating old clothes and shoes? If you are not because no one asked you to, are you not using Osteen's argument in a similar fashion?

3. Joel is NOT a real Pastor

Contrary to popular belief, Joel Osteen does NOT have a divinity degree. He inherited Lakewood from his father who encouraged him to preach for years but declined until 1999. Osteen is a motivational speaker who happens to base his "sermons" on "the Word of God." Moreover Lakewood is a business first and a church second. Joel is NOT a real Pastor, so why treat him like one?

4. “Judge not, that you be not judged." Matthew 7:1-3 NJKV

We should refrain from judging those who we don't know. It doesn't matter how in the spotlight anyone is. First and foremost we should be concerned with personal things. Attacking another is never good for the soul.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
