Now if you haven't seen Jessie James Decker's music video of Flip My Hair, I suggest watching it after you read this. I have watched this video several times while reading the positive and negative comments.
I personally don't get the negative ones, they make no sense at all. But the song has more meaning to me than the comments!
I understand that Jessie is quite preggers in the video, but that does not mean you have to bash her for growing a human inside of her while she is filming a video for one of the best songs ever, might I add. That being said, I love the video and how simple it is. I get that there isn't much of a storyline, but the story is in the song itself.
The song to me is uplifting and means so much to me as a college student. Sometimes I do just have to flip my hair when someone comments on how I'm running my biz or how I look. Jessie has taught me through the song that its okay to flip my hair and not care what others think about me. I am always going to be myself and speak my mind when I need to.
So I guess my message to Y'all ladies is to not be afraid to flip your hair. Let it fly around and be crazy, that's okay for that to happen. Don't feel bad for being you, even if that means going or not going to that cool party that everyone says they are going to. If it isn't you boo, then don't do it!
Now go and watch the video if you haven't still, leave a comment below with what you think about it when you watch it, I'd love to know your reaction/thoughts!
