Everyone Should Be Watching 'The Fosters'
TV Guide

It's Tuesday night and you can't stop thinking about the long week that lies ahead of you and the fact that it's only Tuesday. You think of everything you should be doing right now, but it was such a strenuous day. Sometimes, the only remedy for a day like that is to sit down, relax and watch some good TV. While you could be watching just about anything, you should be watching"The Fosters." This is a show that's not only great but eye-opening as well.

Currently in it's fifth season of filming, "The Fosters"is easily capturing the hearts of families everywhere as it represents so many struggles and controversial issues. Not only that, but this show also highlights hope in the face of darkness, endless love, and what it means to be a family.

"The Fosters" is a platform for real issues. If for a second you thought this was your typical teenage drama, just know you are completely wrong. They aren't afraid to show it how it is. While the show does a fantastic job of covering the typical struggles and everyday happenings of "normal" families, it does an even greater job of targeting the controversial topics that may be uncomfortable to some but need to be talked about. "The Fosters" is the voice for these issues.

For starters, they put the audience in the shoes of foster children and give a glimpse into the heartache and pain they go through. And while not every foster child is as lucky, Callie and Jude finally got adopted into a wonderful family with two brothers, a sister and two amazing moms.

Yes, you heard me right - I said moms. I applaud the show for doing this and what I love about it is that it makes you think. There are people out there who may not approve of what the show is portraying, but thats the thing; what they're doing is helping so many young kids and even adults come to terms with who they are. Not only is the show helping people in similar situations but it's also helping people who can't understand by letting them try to understand. And I mean, how can you not love Stef and Lena?!

"The Fosters" also covers controversial and eye-opening topics. The show covers biracial relationships, LGBT rights, racism, homophobia (even within a family), teen sex, abortion, feminism, and finding your biological parents, and these aren't even all the topics covered.

Not only does it cover important topics but it's honestly just such an entertaining show to watch. For one, the romance in the show is crazy. Whether between Brandon and Callie (a couple turned to siblings) or Mariana and Nick, there is just so much love. Plus, it's not all happy endings, which makes the show even more dramatic.

If you're a TV junkie and always down to watch something new, I highly recommend watching "The Fosters" (every Tuesday at 8/7c on FreeForm). Whether it makes you think or helps you unwind after a long day at work, you won't regret it.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
