14 Reasons Why You Should Apply To ATC

How Aggie Transition Camps 'ATC' changed my life and you should apply now!

"From the outside looking in, you can't understand it. And from the inside looking out, you can't explain it." It is, what it is...for those who have experienced it, but I never truly understood this quote until I left Trinity Pines in the summer of 2015. As a transfer, I was extremely nervous about attending Texas A&M University. It is a school with so many accomplishments, traditions and pride. To "belong" is something I was unsure of, much less to be welcomed. From the outside, I did not understand why there was so much dedication and pride amongst the students --- and actually the whole community. But upon leaving T-Camp, I finally understood. Camp truly made me appreciate all of Texas A&M’s rich traditions as well as making me feel like I was already part of a family."

"As much as I try to explain it…I can’t. The best recommendation I have for every transferee is for them to attend T-Camp and experience it for themselves. It was definitely one of the best decisions of my life and I guarantee you will not regret it."

"Aggie Transition Camps exists to successfully transition new students into the Aggie family." This is repeated at the beginning of every meeting I've ever been to for ATC, and it makes me so happy because this organization does a perfect job at fulfilling this mission statement. ATC impacted me from the very first day I started school at Texas A&M University. I was honored to have been chosen as a counselor twice for this organization and I felt I had a real chance to impact the lives of so many new Aggies transferring to this amazing university... Here are some of the many reasons you should apply for ATC!!

1. To share your love of Aggieland, the Aggie Spirit, and the power of the Aggie Family with others.

2. Encourage others to be excited about Aggieland.

3. You make friends that become your family.

4. You develop great leadership experience!

5. Getting to meet amazing Namesakes that make your camp experience and this University even better than you thought it could be.

6. Being a part of something bigger than yourself, and impacting a group of complete strangers!

7. Even getting to become best friends with your Discussion Group 'DG'!

8. You find your people. Some of my best friends came out of this organization and they're some of the most selfless people I've ever met.

9. You will never be judged. Seriously. You can be yourself 100% in this organization and the people in it will love you for you.

10. You get to meet girls who are just 100% real with you and not afraid to be ridiculously silly with you.

11. And you meet some pretty great guys also...

12. You get to cry a lot. Don't worry, it's all happy crying though!!

13. Not to mention that delicious T-Pines food!!

14. Hanging out with the Campers AFTER camp and establishing lifelong friendships with each other.

When you join this organization you get to learn from others and be surrounded by people who encourage you and challenge you to be your best self everyday. ATC allows you to grow more as a person while also finding your people. Like I said above, some of my best friends came from this organization...

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
