Coffee can be considered a drug, and is a common form of both a wake-up, and pick-me-up. Weather you're a college student, or a working adult, there has to have been one time in your life you thanked everything holy for coffee. From Starbucks, to Dunkin, to the at-home coffee machines, coffee has always been a helping hand and important factor to your day.

1. The first sip is always the best

Doesn't matter what time of day, season or event: the best sip of coffee is the first sip of coffee you take.

2. Social events

I can't count the amount of times my friends and I have met at our local Starbucks for coffee to catch up, or the amount of times my college friends and I skipped out on lunch to find a local coffee shop.

3. When it's cold outside

Walking down the streets of NYC in the middle of January to see a show is much more bearable with a coffee in hand. It keeps my hands warm and eventually, warms me up completely.

4. Some of us enjoy being 'basic'

It's fall, so I'm obviously drinking a PSL along with 95% of the world. It's the middle of the summer? Cool- I'm probably still drinking a hot beverage.

5. Wake-up call

I would never make it to work on-time without coffee. I blame my college years for that. Coffee is basically part of my blood. It's what kicks my ass into gear on a daily basis.

6. All-nighters

Working an over-night shift or studying until the sun comes up is impossible without caffeine.

7. Pick-me up's

There are days where we just feel...not ourselves. For me, rainy windy, gloomy days are the worst. Something about a frappe makes me feel much better.

8. Holidays

Holiday flavored coffees are the best. There's always something new and exciting in "coffee world" come the holiday season in every coffee shop. You can even buy holiday flavored creamer in the stores.

9. It's seemingly endless

Anytime I go to a diner, my coffee cup is never empty. The busboys, waiters and waitresses deserve metals for never allowing my coffee cup to be empty. Keep it coming!

10. So many options

If you're a coffee lover, I'm sure you have a favorite coffee shop and are team Dunkin' or team Starbucks. There seems to be so many different places to buy a cup of coffee, and so many different flavor options as well. Coffee shops are very common and a perfect spot to relax.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
