I think we're all over the whole trekking-to-class-when-it's-almost-90-degrees thing. Arriving at your 10 a.m. lecture drenched in sweat gets real old, real fast. Especially when you just barely made it out of the shower in time. What was even the point of washing your hair if the humidity just completely sabotages it? According to the astronomical calendar, fall doesn't officially start until Sept. 23. So I guess we've got a little bit of time to sweat it out. But in the mean time, why don't we take a look at some of the reasons we are so beyond ready for fall.
1. The Outfits
I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired of re-wearing the same shorts over and over each week. Summer clothes just aren't as much fun. Or as comfy. With fall we have the option to layer: trench coats, scarves, cute sweaters, boots, leggings, high socks. My wardrobe doesn't get cute until late October. There's just so much more to work with. (And did I mention LEGGINGS?)
2. Showing Up to Work or Class Dry
Mornings are always a rush. You probably snooze your alarm at least three times, lay in bed checking Twitter for a little longer than you're supposed to, and before you know it you're about to be late. This results in struggling to get ready, sprinting to your lecture that is entirely across campus and taking your seat drenched in sweat. No one likes that. No one wants to see your face all sticky and sweaty and gross. No one wants to see the sweat stains you leave on your seat. It's time the dreadful season of summer comes to an end.
3. The Holidays
OK, first there's Halloween, and if you're in college you probably know it as Halloweek. And who doesn't look forward to that week, am I right? But let's not forget all of the magic that comes with Thanksgiving (so much food. SO MUCH) and all of grandma's cookies you are about to indulge in. Did I mention, Christmas is on the way? And most importantly, since it's cold outside, we can cover up our food babies with cute sweaters. It just feels right.
4. Everything is Just Cozier
During fall, we can finally tolerate hot coffee again. Fuzzy blankets become so relevant. Fireplaces. Cuddling. If you're lucky enough to live in a place where the seasons actually change (aka not SoCal) you get to appreciate the pretty orange leaves. Tailgates. Football. PUMPKIN FLAVORED DESSERTS.
Sure, it's a bummer that pool parties and daygers might start to slow down, but with fall comes so much more. Maybe we'll actually have the motivation to go to class since it won't be 100 degrees.
