Too often we judge ourselves by the size on our pants or tops. We can no longer do this because of different brands sizes. Not only that, different fits and styles of clothing will result in different sizes. Well I have a story for you as of why we can no longer depend on pant sizes.
So tonight I went grocery shopping at Walmart. I happened to see this cute pair of shorts hanging on display. I thought to myself " wow and only $9" so I put them in my cart without trying them on (I knew I could return and there was no fitting room). I grab a size 7 because in evens I'm a 6 and odds a 7, usually. I come home to try on my new cute shorts and they're too small! I mean they didn't push my love fat out but I could not bend over or sit in these shorts so I decided to compare these size 7's to my size 7's from Kohls (where I usually shop for good prices and Kohl's cash 😉).
Here is why you cannot pay attention to size. As pictured above you can see that the white shorts are about an inch bigger than the jean shorts. In Walmart I would be either a 9 or even 11. I have lost 40 lbs and before was a size 12. Imagine what this does to my self esteem to see the weight loss and go shopping to realize you haven't dropped a pant size?! Girls these days have enough trouble with self esteem. This isn't bashing any store or speaking negatively. This is to tell females that the size is truly just a number! It cannot always be trusted and varies throughout. Different pants fit different ways, along with different styles. I usually never buy clothes without trying them on first due to this fact.
This isn't just with shorts. I have XS shirts up to L shirts that all fit the same. Every style, brand, make is different. No matter how hard, accept the size/number because they don't mean jack anyway.
