Why wait for God's timing?
I hear every day, "God's plan is taking to long, I'm just going to take things into my own hands" by women and men in their twenties because the idea of love is so glorified that everyone feels the need to have it RIGHT now. Not in a year, not in five years, not even within the next 24 hours. Love is at the tap of a button these days, so why even wait? Why bother listening to God and trusting His plan? Do you see the point?
God didn't make you.
"For you created my inmost being. You knitted me together in my mother's womb." -- Psalm 139:13
Not only did He MAKE you, He planned for you.
God's taking way too long, right?
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles." -- Isaiah 40:31
His timing will always be perfect, but in order for His plan to occur we must trust FULLY in the Lord. He has it mapped to perfection, so wait, let the Lord work.
"God would speed it up if He loved me."
"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens." -- Ecclesiastes 3:1
Time is not meaningless to God. If we jump ahead and try to skip the days He has planned, there is a good chance we are going to miss out on the lessons He has in place that are set to help us grow. It may be difficult right now or it may just not be what you want, but He has a plan and a reason for the things that are occurring in your life.
"Why have faith in what could happen, when I could set my own future?"
"He said to them: 'It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by His own authority.'" -- Acts 1:7
If He showed us a calendar, laid out day by day of His plan, you'd have your answers and your faith would be gone. By trusting in the Lord and His authority, your faith will grow greater. With knowledge of these dates, your faith will dwindle and you'll rely on this layout rather than God's plan.
"Honestly, His plan has been crap so far, so I don't know why I'd continue to hope something good will happen."
"He has made everything beautiful in His time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from the beginning." -- Ecclesiastes 3:11
You have no idea of the good that is coming, you cannot even fathom what good is coming your way.
We all want love and the perfect relationship and happiness that we know we deserve. However, every good relationship requires a degree of patience. You can not force a person to be right for you. You cannot force a relationship to be right for you. Give God a chance to work His plan out because the relationship you build with Him in the process of waiting will be 1000X more rewarding than the relationships you go through trying to figure it out on your own. His timing is right, so just trust Him.
