College students are so used to schedules and routines and day after day of the same consecutive events. We go to the same buildings, with the same people, in the same culture, climate, and lifestyle of the area we reside in. Which is why travel is so extremely important for us.
Traveling reminds us just how small we are and just how big and diverse this world is. Instead of “our world” being a state or county, “our world” becomes THE world. Lifestyles are different and it’s important to be thrown in the midst of them and figure out what suits us best. Cultures are different and it’s important to acknowledge the differences, learn about them and decide for ourselves what we want to be a part of. Climate and weather are different too. Have you always known humidity? Well, how do all four seasons sound to you? Ever seen snow? Do you want to?
The epitome of traveling is based entirely on experiences.
Each destination has something unique to offer, but each new experience not only educates you and broadens your perspective; it molds you into an intelligent, cultured, human. Travel is important specifically for college students because that’s the time in our lives when we’re trying to figure out our future and the path we should go down. So how can you possibly decide that by staying in the same place forever?
