Why Timing Is Everything

Tick Tock

Time. Time is an interesting concept. Time brings different things to us. Sometimes time brings things to us that are beautiful, sometimes not so much. It brings hard experiences and the best experiences that you'll never forget. It'll teach you lessons, and sometimes even hit you with those lessons again, and again, and again. No matter what it does though, timing is everything.

There are some out there that believe in chance, or things just happening because, but I believe everything was timed to be the way that it was. I think you get your heart broken at certain times in your life. I think time breaks your heart and brings the people they do into your life so by the time you recover and ready to love again, someone will come into your life. Or even multiple people will come into your life and you'll be ready to protect your heart each time. By then, time is throwing different people into your life to help you discover what you want, what you want in another person, and what you need. Eventually, time brings someone wonderful into your life. Maybe, someone, you met at a different time, but back then, the timing wasn't right. Time has a funny way of doing that.

For those who know this, I have a broken hand. On my right hand, all fingers but my thumb are not normal looking. A metal beam, the kind that holds up garages, fell on my hand when I was just a little kid. It crushed all my fingers and now 3 out of the 4 broken ones are shaped to curve so I can grab things, and one of my fingers is missing two knuckles, so I can't even bend it. In that situation, the timing was just right, even though everything went wrong. In this situation, the time had aimed it correctly that when this pole fell it fell right on my hand, not my head or my body. I was lucky to even have any fingers left they were so damaged. Time aimed it just right that in that moment, my fingers would be crushed, but nothing else would be. I think all that had something to do with timing, because I could've died, but instead I was just broken.

Even in major moments, timing is everything. Sometimes you'll meet someone who was almost in a tragic accident, but by some miracle was lucky enough to have moved away from the scene just long enough to miss whatever tragedy had happened. Things like that are crazy to me. Everything happens at different timing.

Timing is everything, and I know this may seem a bit far-fetched, but it's an idea just to think about and consider. Timing has definitely played a part in my life. Maybe it has for you too.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
