Spoiler: This article gives away many of the big events that happen in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life was recently released to help conclude the show in the way Amy Sherman Pallidino always intended to. However, instead of further wrapping up the show and giving us closure, the mini series left us with more questions than answers, and because of this we need another season.
To start with, the last line by Rori, "I'm pregnant," threw us a complete curveball. The series was just about to wrap up nice and neat until Rori dropped that crucial bit of information. We need a season two to find out who the father is. The most likely suspect is Logan, however, there was the scene where Jess looked longingly at Rori through the window. Could something have happened between them? Could Paul, who everyone keeps forgetting about, be the father? Regardless of who the father is, will they help her take care of and raise the baby? There is just so much we need to know.
As part of #teamlogan, something really struck me when they were sitting at the back table in the tango club. When Rori asked him if he was really going to marry Odette, he replied, "That's the dynastic plan." This response was so cryptic. He does not straight up say "yes," and the way he says it almost makes it seem like he does not necessarily want to marry her, but instead is being told to by his family or doing so for some other unknown reason. This line gave me hope that they could still have a future together, on top of the fact that he flew back to America along with his friends to take Rori on an extravagant night just to make her feel better.
We also have unanswered questions when it comes to Rori and her career. When the show ended, she was just starting to get her life back together and had finally found her purpose. We need to know how it goes. Does she become a best selling author, and if so, does she continue to write books? Does she start to get noticed more after the book and end up back in the field of journalism? Again, there are so many questions we still need answers to.
As can clearly be seen, instead of making us feel better about the Gilmore Girls and ending on a note other than the train wreck that was season seven, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life left us with too many unanswered questions. We need a season two so we can get our questions answered. Please Amy Sherman Palladino, bless us with more of your wonderful writings.
