So if you haven't heard, Rae Lynn came out with a song called "God Made Girls" not too long ago and I have had some thoughts about the song and what is in it. While the message of the song is very girl power like, I do think there are some flaws in it.
In the song, she says girls should be the one to "wear a pretty skirt". Well, what if I want to wear a pretty dress or pretty top with jeans? I mean I get the point she was trying to make a little, but cmon.
Represent some more girly clothes, Rae. She also says after wearing the skirt, that girls should also be the one to flirt. While I do think that girls should shoot that flirty winky face emoji (and yes I have been the girl to send this emoji before), I also think that boys should be the one to flirt and to make us girls feel special.
She also mentions about "dragging his butt to church". Okay now I did think this lyric was pretty clever and funny at first, but like I think that it shouldn't be up to the girl to make the boy go to church. If he wants to go and praise Him with her, he can go with her. But it should be up to him in the end, not the other way around.
Although the lyrics in the song have some different approaches, I still think the overall message of the song is a great one. I just think that the lyrics that I pointed out have some issues (not like the Julia Micheals song though).
Let me know what you think about these lyrics in the song, do you agree with me or do you think that I am going crazy? Leave a comment below! As always, thanks for reading!
