Sports have always been the content that brings communities together. It can give people a developing social skill and help them make new friends. Whatever differences people have is put away when the game starts because they all focus on the sport they love. Sports can also be beneficial for the body; things like running, jumping and reacting quickly all help your body in some way. For me, because I always play basketball with my friends four times a week, 3 to 4 hours straight, I began to notice that my stamina increased because of all the activities we did. So why do some people hate sports so much?

I've met some people who dislike sports, but one of things that stood out was the fact that they had to move around. One time, all of our friends decided to go to camping and during that time we started playing Capture The Flag. While it was fun, some of our friends just stayed in one spot and did absolutely nothing. It annoyed me at first, but my team won in the end because most of the players in the opposing team stood around. They said it was because they did not like exercising their body, and while it is understandable, running around and trying to grab the flag is the whole point of this game. Yet for them, putting an effort to move around and work their body was too much of a hassle.

Joseph, a close friend of mine, believes the reason people do not like sports is because "they don't like being sweaty, while others don't see the purpose of playing sports." He also mentions that others stated that sports, for them, is too "mainstream." Well, the purpose of sports is finding a way to get in shape while having fun! Being a bit sweaty can be gross, but it shows that you're exercising while having a great time instead of doing nothing. The word "mainstream" basically means following with what everyone else does. While sports to an extent is mainstream, it's a good type of it. An example would be rooting for the same team; having a common goal can bring people together, and while supporting the team, they can maybe find something in common with each other.

I love sports because it helps the community grow together and be part of something much greater. I respect those who hate sports, as that is their own opinion, but I urge them to at least give sports a chance, to not see sports as a job but an experience. Try sports like basketball, as its easy to pick up and allows you to do an easy allow you to do a workout without thinking. All you have to do is play, and of course, try to win!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
