The British Royal family has been around for centuries, millennia even, so what makes them so attractive to the American eye? Is it their posh lifestyle, the lavish romance, or the family drama?

Maybe it started with Edward VIII's abdication in order to marry an American divorcee and the scandal that occurred, or maybe Princess Diana's elegant style and marriage scandal propelled the U.S. into an era of British infatuation.

Whether it's scandal that calls us to the British royal family or lavish romance, one thing is for sure; they're doing something right if a country that seceded from them over 200 years ago now wants to know their every move!

Today, our modern British romance is found in the pairing of Prince William and Kate Middleton as well as, more recently, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. When William and Kate first began their public relationship in January 2006, the public became absolutely infatuated with the royal romance. Kate began being photographed nonstop, no matter what she was doing or wearing, and William was suddenly back in the spotlight, much like his mother Diana.

Since they've been together, the couple has been very open with their relationship, their philanthropy, and their family. Which is one reason why the British royal family is still "goals." Being any type of celebrity means letting people into your life, sometimes more than you'd like, and the British royals have managed to let people into their lives while still maintaining their private lives with grace and dignity. There aren't many celebrity families that fit that bill. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's recent engagement has also revitalized the royal household and William and Kate's announcement of their third child on the way is cause for celebration!

Apart from the romance, both royal ladies have been in countless magazines for their brilliant fashion choices, from Kate's signature coats to Meghan's choice in dresses, the princes have both picked lovely significant others that are honestly "goals" in more categories than one.

With the combination of good fashion sense, maturity, and their overall gracefulness, the royal family sets the prime example of what a ruling family should act like. If we're being honest, they've been "goals" for quite some time, but this 21st-century British royal family is the best yet!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
