Why A Sister Makes A Best Friend
Grace Rigdon

Each day is a blessing, and your sister is your blessing. Sisters are strategically placed in our lives to make sure that we have a best friend, a shoulder to cry on and someone that understands the truest version of you.

Your sister is your number one fan. She is there when you need her and when you don't. The authentic love and support she can offer are indescribable and very special. Your sister has gone through it all, been to every event, watched you succeed and fail. She has been able to stand by your side through the good and the bad with her support and advice. She might not always know what to say, but she is there to listen and walk with you.

Whether you are having a good day or a bad day, she always knows how to cheer you up and will give you a shoulder to cry on in a heartbeat. She knows when your mood is off, knows when something is wrong and when you are stressed. She works for you to relax, unwind, and smile

You already know the great length of fights that you two have been in. It is easy to fight with someone who is so much like you. The best thing about having a sister is the forgiveness that is promised after fights. No matter how bad the fight, you know sooner than later that it will all be okay.

She has known you longer than anyone else. She has watched you grow up or you have watched her grow up into a beautiful human being. You are so proud when people compliment her and love her because you know the steps it took for her to get where she is as a woman.

Everyone calls you twins, and you love it, it is the best compliment. Whether you are the younger sister and you look older, or the older sister looking younger, knowing you two resemble each other is the luckiest thing.

You are so similar, yet so different. It is amazing to have a best friend that has the same qualities and lust for life as you, but it is even better when your personalities are very different and each day you can learn from your sister. Your sister gives you the opportunity to try new things and look at things from a different perspective.

It is wonderful having someone that looks up to you and having someone you can look up to. She is looking to us for advice and courage and we look to her for new experiences and help. Having a sister is a support team like no other.

She is the reason why your laugh is so strong and so persistent. She has taught you how to love life and crack a smile at the world. She knows how to cheer you up and how to make you feel like a million bucks.

Your sister is there to push you out of your comfort zone and help you strive for success. She wants you to be the best you and work towards greatness. She is willing to help give advice, encouragement and laughter in a time of need. She wants to push you to try new things and live your life together and happily.

Your sister loves you, for you. She knows the true you and wants you to be that person all of the time. Your sister is the best friend you could ever hope, dream or pray for.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
