Why Road Trips Are The Best Bonding Times

Road trips with your friends are the best time to bond. There is bound to be great memories made while being stuck in the car with nowhere else to go but the open road ahead. Everyone is excited to go to their destination, whether it be a Spring Break trip or a weekend getaway. Way too many Cheez-Its and candy will be had and funny moments from everyone being too tired and driving too long will happen. A road trip is so much more than just getting to the destination, it is about the memories shared on the journey. Good friends become great friends and great friends become best friends.

Jamming out to your favorite songs at the top of your lungs is the best part. Passing the aux cord and blasting the music makes the adventure 10 times more fun. Whether it be a classic Whitney Houston 80's hit or a bumping rap song, jam sessions happen very frequently. After the excitement of taking off on the road trip, the music dies down and that's when heart to heart conversations happen. There is no better to get to know someone better than being confined in a small car for eight hours. You get to learn things about them that will make them a closer friend to you. Secrets are shared and laughs are had. There will be inside jokes made over things that no one else will understand. Crying till there are tears in your eyes and your stomach hurts from laughing so much will happen more than you think. You will go to scary gas station that look like they belong in a scary movie and have adventures to get a late night snack where you will meet very interesting people. You only share these memories with your road trip crew. Someone might take a wrong turn or not pay attention to Siri and add two hours onto the drive, but that's okay because you are with people that make your life better and happier. These are the moments that you will think back on and smile because of the great times that were had.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
