Why Pugs are Everyone's Soul Animal
Alexa Sussman

Pugs are great. Anyone who doesn't think so clearly has never spent quality time with one of these wrinkly, lovable loaves. Pugs are silly, snorting, little love muffins who don't care what anyone thinks, they just like being themselves. Pugs and people share so many similarities. Here's why everyone's soul animal is actually a pug.

1. They Love To Eat

Yes, all dogs love to eat but pugs have a special emotional connection to food. I mean, look at those eyes while this little guy eats this hot dog. He's so grateful and happy. If that's not the face you make when you eat a delicious meal, you're living a sad life friend.

2. They're Always Confused

Pugs are notorious for their shamelessly confused nature. Living life in general is a confusing thing to do, and though people like hide it, you know you wish you could be a pug and bob your head to express your confusion to others.

3. They're Easily Amused

No matter how hard you try to pretend you like the most abstract of entertainments, you know even the smallest of life's joys can make you happy. Just like a pug in a ball pit.

4. They Need Companionship

Sure humans and pugs like to have alone time every now and then, but we all know that only lasts for so long. We all need a buddy to be near us and have our backs through thick and thin.

5. They Aren't the Most Athletic

You know as well as I do that even if we get out on the field, there will be someone just a little bit more athletic playing. Instead of worrying, just be a pug and accept you're not the most athletic player out there.

6. Sleeping is Their Favorite Activity

A good nap is important. Pugs know and practice this everyday. While other people are wearing themselves down doing busy work, pugs are curled up in a wrinkly ball getting their beauty rest. You know you want to do the same.

7. They Aren't the Most Graceful

Pugs, like many of us, can't really strut down the street like a supermodel. But pugs don't care, they just live life, funny run and all.

8. They are Always Happy and Full of Life

Pugs live life to the fullest. They recognize life is short, just like their legs. So they dig up every bone and roll in every mud puddle, because it might be there last. There's no time to be sad and miserable in life.

9. They Give Everyone a Chance

Pugs know the importance of giving everyone a fair opportunity to be their friend. They will greet most anyone or anything with a smile because who knows who will be willing to scratch your butt?

10. They Are Unapologetically Themselves

Pugs don't care if they're are funny looking or snort all the time. They love who they are and know there are special people who love them just as much.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
