Why People Need To Stop Caring

Please keep your irrelevant opinion to yourself.

We live in a society where many people either know everything, or feel as if they need to know everything about other people's lives. I grew up in an extremely small town, so I know what it is like to have business that is good, bad, or neutral spread around as fast as possible. People get so caught up in oversharing, that they have a fear of missing out. I am not trying to say that posting a photo on Instagram of yourself or with your friends is bad, but constantly making a status on Facebook about your opinion is unnecessary.

I bring up oversharing because many people who participate in this are often the ones spreading other people's business. I have one question. WHY DO YOU CARE?

Really, why do you care? What does spreading a rumor about someone else do for you? Seriously, I don't understand. Many times, these people that gossip about others have no emotional attachment to the person, they just thrive on gossip and on finding out the next juicy detail.

This is to everyone who thinks that their opinion is better than others', to anyone who has a problem with people having fun in college, or to anyone who gossips about the people they dislike. This is also to everyone else who can't stop running their damn mouths for no reason.

I'm sure your life isn't fully in check. By all means, share the video of a dog licking peanut butter or of frogs dancing, but posting your own opinion to receive affirmation, or even to get an argument out of others, is simply childish. We ALL know what you're doing, and you look really desperate.

Some people go even further. I'm not sure if it stems from jealously, but we'll blame it on that since everyone always does. The amount of people who go after a respected person to ruin their reputation are just a low. You really care enough about another person to try to make them look bad? The truth is, you make yourself look like a piece of trash in the process, so attempting to do so really shouldn't even be on your mind. Stop caring so much and fix ya-damn self.

So, the next time I post, my friend posts, my cousin posts, or some random person across the world posts, people need to remember to stop caring. Nobody actually likes gossip. The only reason people choose to be around someone like that is to find out information, because you best bet that no one will actually trust them with anything.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
